6 Common CBD Questions Answered

6 Common CBD Questions Answered

Research leads the product development process for Level Select CBD - from the seeds we select to our extraction and formulation processes. That means we have a wealth of knowledge to share when it comes to answering your questions. So whether you want to know if CBD is addictive, how it feels, or if it will get you high, here are the answers to your most common CBD questions.

1. Is CBD addictive?

No. You can enjoy CBD without worrying about dependency. Our Broad Spectrum CBD oils, roll-ons and creams contain cannabinoids and terpenes extracted from the hemp plant. These are similar to the natural endocannabinoids found in the body, and as shown by research from the World Health Organization, there is no evidence that they are addictive. Although the cannabinoids in CBD interact with receptors in the brain, they do so without causing any addictive dependency in the short and long term.

2. Does CBD get you high?

No. CBD alone will not get you high. Because cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the active ingredients of the cannabis sativa plant, many people assume that products containing CBD will deliver psychoactive effects. That is not the case. To start, CBD is extracted from the hemp variety of the plant, not the marijuana strain. Secondly, the compound that causes the psychoactive high in marijuana is THC.

3. What does CBD feel like?

For athletes, in particular, it’s what you won’t feel that matters. You won’t feel ‘high’ or in any way mentally impaired for a start. With regular use and the right strength product, you won’t feel the same intensity of soreness in your muscles and joints.

Otherwise, the effects of our Broad Spectrum CBD depends on whether you take it as an oil or use it as a topical cream or roll-on. Users who take oil drops orally experience a gentle calming and soothing effect which usually becomes apparent within 2 hours after ingestion. CBD oil with melatonin, such as our Level Zzz: 2400mg CBD Oil Drops with Melatonin, will make you feel relaxed and drowsy before you go to sleep.

Our topical creams feel cool and refreshing on the skin, thanks to a moisturizing, non-greasy cream containing menthol. Since CBD delivered through the skin reaches nerve receptors much quicker, relief for sore muscles can be instantaneous.

4. Can I fly on a plane with CBD?

For domestic flights within the U.S., you can travel with CBD just as you would any other over-the-counter wellbeing supplement. For international flights, you should take the precaution of checking the local laws for your destination, but most restrictions apply only to CBD containing THC (Full Spectrum CBD). The only other consideration concerns carrying liquids as part of carry-on baggage. CBD bottle sizes should be no bigger than 3.4 ounces (100ml), so pack larger bottles in your checked baggage.

5. How long do the effects last?

CBD interacts naturally with your body’s endocannabinoid receptors, and the effects will last longer for people who use CBD regularly for a sustained period. On average, the effects of CBD last from 2-6 hours. The duration and intensity of CBD effects depend on the dosage strength and the user’s body mass and metabolism, so each person will see slightly different results.

Thanks to the Nano absorption technology in our topical creams and roll-ons, we are able to get CBD into the bloodstream as fast as possible and for longer. For our CBD oil, the longer you can allow the liquid to rest under the tongue, the more will be absorbed into the bloodstream, creating longer-lasting effects.

6. Can anyone use CBD?

CBD is safe for almost everyone as long as they select lab-tested CBD products such as Level Select CBD. However, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should stay away from Full Spectrum CBD with THC. They should also do ample research on the selected CBD product to ensure there are no other harmful ingredients for the baby, such as pesticides, heavy metals, bacteria and fungus. If in doubt, or if you’re already taking other prescriptions, follow the medical advice of your healthcare provider before using CBD.

From a legal perspective, Broad Spectrum CBD with no THC is available in all 50 states to anyone over 18 years of age and it is a safe supplement for almost anyone.
